Privacy notice

1. Who is responsible for your data

Musas Eventos, which operates the Huellita peluda site (huellitapeluda.mx), located in Veracruz, Ver., Mexico, is responsible for processing your personal data under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP) and related rules.

2. What data we collect

• Your email address, so you can sign in to edit your ofrendas and so we can send you purchase confirmations.
• The content of the ofrenda: photos, your pet's name and species, dates and dedication. This content is public on the site.
• Messages and names you write when lighting a candle (optional and public).
• Technical data: IP address (stored encrypted), browser type, pages visited and the campaign parameters you arrived with (for example utm_source or fbclid).
• Payment data: entered directly with Stripe or Mercado Pago. We never receive or store your card numbers; only the payment status, the amount and the transaction ID.

We do not collect sensitive personal data. Please don't include other people's data in photos or dedications without their permission.

3. What we use your data for

Necessary purposes, to provide the service:

• Creating, showing and saving ofrendas, and letting you edit them.
• Sending you one-time sign-in links and emails about your ofrendas and purchases.
• Processing payments for eternal ofrendas, candles and portraits, and handling questions or refunds.
• Moderating content and preventing abuse or fraud.
• Painting the Catrina portrait you buy, from the pet photo you choose.

Additional purposes (you can opt out without losing the service):

• Sending you a yearly reminder on your pet's anniversary. You can unsubscribe with the link in every email.
• Measuring how well our Facebook and Instagram ads work, through the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API, which share events such as "viewed an ofrenda" or "made a purchase" with Meta, along with technical browser identifiers.

If you don't want your data used for these additional purposes, write to hola@huellitapeluda.mx. You can also block third-party cookies in your browser.

4. Who we share your data with

• Stripe (United States) and Mercado Pago (Mexico), to process payments.
• Meta Platforms, for the ad measurement described above.
• OpenAI (United States), which automatically reviews the photos you upload for moderation and paints the Catrina portraits. It only receives the pet photos, never your email.
• Our web hosting and email providers, which only store data on our behalf.
• Authorities, when a law or court order requires it.

These transfers are necessary to provide the service or are allowed by law. We don't sell your data.

5. Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, have it deleted or object to its use (known in Mexico as ARCO rights), and you can also withdraw your consent. Send your request to hola@huellitapeluda.mx with your name, the email you use on the site, which right you want to exercise and, if relevant, the link to the ofrenda. We will reply within 20 business days.

You can edit or delete your ofrendas at any time from My ofrendas.

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie so you can sign in and to protect forms, cookies to remember the currency and language you chose and, where applicable, the Meta Pixel cookies (_fbp, _fbc) to measure ads.

7. How long we keep it

Free ofrendas are kept for as long as the service exists, even after they stop being public. Eternal ones, for as long as the service exists. Payment records are kept for as long as tax laws require. If you delete an ofrenda, we delete its photos right away.

If we change this notice, we will publish the new version on this page with its update date.
