Terms of use
Last updated: October 26, 2026 · This is a translation for your convenience; if anything differs, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Who we are
Huellita peluda (huellitapeluda.mx) is a service of digital Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) ofrendas for pets, operated by Musas Eventos, located in Veracruz, Ver., Mexico. Contact: hola@huellitapeluda.mx. By using the site you accept these terms.
2. Free ofrendas
Creating an ofrenda is free. A free ofrenda is shown on the shared altar and on its own page until November 15, 2026. After that it is no longer public, but we don't delete it: you can make it eternal at any time so it shows again.
3. Eternal ofrenda
The eternal ofrenda costs US$9 (or $149 MXN in Mexico), as a one-time payment, with no subscription. It keeps the ofrenda visible and saved for life, with a badge on the shared altar.
What "for life" means: the ofrenda will be available for as long as the Huellita peluda service exists. If we ever decide to close it, we will email you at least 90 days in advance and give you an easy way to download all the photos and texts of your ofrendas.
4. Candles
Anyone can light a candle on a public ofrenda for US$3 (or $29 MXN) each, and leave an optional short message. The candle adds to the ofrenda's counter and its message is shown on it.
Catrina portrait
For US$5 (or $79 MXN) we paint a Day of the Dead Catrina-style portrait of the pet from one of the photos on its ofrenda. The portrait is generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI): it looks like your pet, but it is an artistic interpretation and may not be identical. You receive it by email to download, and it is shown on the ofrenda. You may use it for personal purposes.
5. Payments
Outside Mexico, payments are processed by Stripe; Stripe may show you the price in your local currency. In Mexico, payments are processed by Mercado Pago (card, OXXO and SPEI transfer). A purchase is confirmed when the processor tells us the payment went through.
6. Refunds
- Eternal ofrenda: if you are not satisfied, ask for a full refund within 30 days of purchase by writing to hola@huellitapeluda.mx. The ofrenda goes back to being free under the rules of section 2.
- Catrina portrait: if it could not be painted, we refund you in full. If you didn't like how it turned out, write to us within 30 days and we'll paint it again or refund you; once refunded, the portrait is no longer shown.
- Candles: they are not refundable once lit, except duplicate charges or errors, which we always refund.
- If we remove an eternal ofrenda for breaking these terms, no refund applies.
- Refunds go back to the same payment method and may take as long as your bank or the processor needs.
7. Content you post
You are responsible for the photos and texts you upload. By posting them you allow us to show them on the site and to use them to create the image shown when the ofrenda is shared. They remain yours. You may not post:
- Content that is not a remembrance of a pet.
- Violent, offensive or sexual images, or images showing animal abuse.
- Photos or data of other people without their permission.
- Advertising or spam.
We may hide or remove ofrendas that break these rules. Anyone can report an ofrenda with the "Report" button.
8. Yearly reminder
Once a year, on the date your pet passed away (or, if you didn't add it, on the date you created the ofrenda), we send you an email to remember them. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.
9. Availability
We do our best to keep the site running at all times, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico (Estados Unidos Mexicanos). For any dispute, the parties submit to the courts of Veracruz, Veracruz, without prejudice to any consumer rights you may have under the laws of your country.
